True XOXO "Unconventional Colour" Challenge - May 2012

There isn't long left this month to get your entries in for the True XOXO "Unconventional Colour" Challenge.

It wasn’t all about our favorite colors this month. It was really about the opposite. Colors we are afraid of actually.


The challenge for us was to go UNconventional with our colors. Choosing either colors we didn’t normally scrap with or colors that don’t normally “go” together. For example, red and greens on a non-Christmas layout. Instead of thirds on the color wheel, colors right next to each other.

If this challenge had come up six months ago, my layout would have been all purple. But time changes people and their tastes!! I now love scrapping with purple and have learnt how to make it work for me.

Green and I have a love hate relationship these days. I am not a fan of using it and am never really happy with the results. I don't think I have ever put together a layout with blue and green. To me they are unconventional colours, so I played around a little and came up with this layout for my 52 week album. I still have a love hate relationship with green but I am happy with the colour combination on this one.

Stuck?! Sketches - 15th May 2012

Wow... One day its the 15th next you look its the 18th. Life is just a general whirlwind at the moment and I don't see it slowing down any time soon!!

One thing I do love making time for is each Stuck?! Sketch. They are an amazing way to kick the mojo in the backside and get scrapping.

I know I have said it before but this sketch has to be one of my favourites. Sara just betters herself with every sketch!! This has SSSOOOO much room for interpretation and the CT inspiration over at the Stuck?! site prove that this one IS for everyone!!

Lazy Sunday

It has been really windy here on the South Coast over night. Winter is on its way too as the temps have started to drop. The sun is beautiful but I am inside playing away from the wind sitting at my scrap table and thought I should upload a quick share.

I had a wonderful time at the Savvy crop night last night, where Sar gave me the new We're Savvy kit for May. And as always this is one beautiful kit. You can see why this sold out prior to release by a sneak preview Sar uploaded to facebook!!! I opened it up and knew straight away what I wanted to scrap.

The only thing I have added to the kit is the 2 butterflies. Isn't it gorgeous!!

Stuck?! Sketches - 1st May 2012

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!! I hope everyone who enjoys playing with paper and glue gets a chance today. I have been out this morning to complete a 40km bike ride for charity, so time at the scrap table is a must tonight!!

Seeing Double

A double is the only option when you have holiday albums to complete and too many photos to pick from!!

So was the case with this layout. We had an amazing day swimming with the sea turtles and reef sharks, that there were so many photos and I couldn't pick just one or two.

Remembering the Moment

I also wanted to experiment with chipboard. I wanted to see how it would look as the main title but cut  for the page join. I am happy to say that that experiment was successful and I am having a lot of fun playing around with all of the chippy I have stashed. Thanks WOW!!!!

Ooo Face

Anyone who is friends with me on Facebook would already have seen this layout, but I have to share it here too. This is made with one of the brand new Heidi Swapp lines purchased from Peta at Scrapbooking From Scratch (SFS) and some yummy Purple Pumpkin embellies. The moment I layed eyes on this kit I knew straight away which photo was being done first.

And what isnt to love about the face in this photo?! I have kept it simple so that the photo is the main focal point (which isnt a common thing for me), but I love the end result. And I have dropped the ink for a while in leu of sanding the page edges. That is a technique that I always tend to forget about, but the result in perfect for this page.

The weather has been terrible here today and we are in for a cold week I think. Perfect weather to relive our summer holiday and get scrapping!!

It also looks like April is my record month so far this year, but will know for sure tomorrow. I was always going to do better than last April and I managed a single layout!!!

I will be back in a few days with the next brand new Stuck?! Sketch but that also means that there is one day left to enter your April sketch layouts. Happy scrapping.

Stuck?! Sketches - 15th April 2012

I would have to say this is my favourite sketck so far over at Stuck?! Sketches. And I love that I could use so much beautiful Prima on one page.

The story behind this page is all about "Our Thing". When we go on holidays we are always up for trying as many local beers to where we are as possible, and with all of our travel there have been a few!! This was our most recent holiday to Vanuatu. Once we were off the plane and checked into our hotel, it was straight to the bar for a Tusker, before checking out town!!

True XOXO Scraplift Challenge April 2012

There is nothing better in the lead up to winter than the start of football season. It doesn't matter which code you follow, you are always set for a good year. Personally I am an Aussie Rules girl and a Carlton supporter at that. So with my blue boys playing tonight against the arch enemy Collingwood on the hallowed ground, I have my eyes eagerly glued to the tv set. It will take me an hour to write this post as it will between breaks only!! BTW this has nothing to do with the rest of this post, I'm just excited that footy season is back!!

The True XOXO girls have been at it again this month and are back with some amazing inspiration. These girls are just so talented, so this months challenge was to scraplift another DT member. This gave us the ability to try a new style or technique. We could hide within our comfort zone or be pushed to every boundary.

After trawling through facebook and each blog a particular page by our fearless leader, the gorgeous Lindsey Krauss, caught my eye. It was perfect timing too as I was lacking a lot of inspiration the day I completed my layout, but this challenge kick started it for the rest of the day.

Scrappy Days

I feel like I havent been able to find time to scrap lately, yet when I go back through my albums there are so many pages from the last 3 or so weeks that I just havent shared yet. I attended my very first Saturday all day and night crop at my LSS Scrapbooking Delights, where I managed to get a good few pages done. And we all know that the Easter extra long weekend is another great time to catch up on some much needed scrapping.

Happy April Fools Day!!! Did any one get caught out today?? I thought of a few pranks to pull, but the last thing I would like to do is jinx myself....

Another month, another sketch over at Stuck, and I love both sketches this month, so you are really in for a treat. There is plenty of room for interpretation on these and the ability to change sizes easily.

Holly hell, where is this year going?? I have been hoping for more time to scrap but being on a fitness kick and organising a wedding on top of general life, time just isn't working in my favour!!!

One thing I can guarantee is that I will get 2 pages done a month, and you can too by playing along over at Stuck?! Sketches. I am loving the work that the creative team are producing. There is some pretty amazing inspiration in every style you can imagine.

Stuck?! Sketches - 1st March

I am loving the sketches that Stuck?! have been putting together over the last few months and the ones coming up are no different. They are fantastic!!! As I have been selected to stay on for the next 6 month term, I am very excited about whats coming up and working with another super amazing Creative team.
